Preparing your practice space not only creates enough space for everyone. More importantly, it allows ease of movement during rehearsals.
Since the drum set is always the biggest piece, you can place it on one side of your rehearsal rooms toronto, or better yet, in a corner. Remember that the drum place plays a big role in organizing, because it dictates where every equipment or instruments should be located. It’s never wise to you can place drum set in the center because that would mean all the guitars and amplifiers would get cramped on one side, thereby wasting half of the room’s surface area. Wherever you intend to place it, just make sure that your choice gives everyone enough space.
Once you’ve decided where to place the drum set, mainly then can you place the amplifiers. There are various ways to do this: 1) in a line on the opposite side of the room facing the pièces, 2) in a circle also facing the drums, and 3) in a line in front of the drums facing away from it. The first possibility is good for practices in music studios or in basements, because all band members can hear each other in this setup, yet , this organization is not recommended if you as a band plan to play in clubs or gigs. In this setup, your drummer will receive used to playing while all the amplifiers face him, so it might lead to problems when you perform live. The second arrangement is much like the first, however , there is a slight difference in the sound produced. The last arrangement is best for live performances or bands planning to do live gigs at some point, because all amps face away from the drummer.
Now that you’ve set up your drum set and amps, you can choose to place your personal PA system on a table off to the side of everything, allowing every band member to hear clearly and adjust based on the actual hear. If you choose to do this, all the PA speakers should face where the amplifiers face.
Lastly, you can use power strips to be able to plug your individual multiple instruments, especially when you have only a few sockets in the room. Plug your instruments systematically so that you avoid having cables in the center of the rehearsal space, where band members stand, to decrease tripping hazard.
